Fran Sheehan is an American musician, best known as the former bassist for the rock band Boston. He was born on March 26, 1949, in Marshfield, Massachusetts. Sheehan was a founding member of Boston and played on their debut album, released in 1976, which became one of the best-selling albums of all time.
In addition to his work with Boston, Sheehan also played bass for the band New England and later pursued a career in real estate. He left Boston in 1986 and was replaced by David Sikes.
Despite leaving the band, Sheehan occasionally joined Boston for live performances over the years. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Boston in 2004. Today, Fran Sheehan is retired from the music industry and lives a private life away from the spotlight.
